Rick Ludwig is a licensed Funeral Director and has been in the employ of Kitching-Steepe Funeral Home since 1995 and has been a resident of Waterdown with his wife Denise (Sieders) since 1993. They currently live in the two-storey apartment above the funeral home with their youngest daughter Jilliann and their dog Charlie. Their daughter Danielle and her husband Tyler Heemskerk and their son Matt and his wife Samantha Vink all live in Hamilton.
Rick and Denise purchased the funeral home in 2004 from Ron and Eleanor Steepe and changed the name to Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, recognizing the heritage of four generations of family ownership. Rick manages the day to day operations alongside Funeral Directors, Greg Luxon, Garnet van Popta, Diane Vanderwoude, and Kayla Ruggi. Denise Baynton rounds out our full-time service team as a certified Bereavement Counsellor to add to a wide range of help offered for families before and after a funeral.
As funeral staff we are dedicated to the family ownership model which includes a high level of personal service and an active engagement with the community including both personal involvement and financial support of local causes.
In many ways the funeral home is a home away from home for all of us as we are available to help 24 hours a day every day of the year. It is our goal to warmly and compassionately extend the comfort of home to you and your family at a time when you need it most.
